Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Bunting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Levi King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying King's choice of entrance music: Lou Reed - Perfect Day. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Bunting!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Levi King!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunting keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from King.
King cracks Bunting with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
King tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bunting throws a series of punches but King avoids them all with ease.
King chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bunting can pounce on him.
Bunting ducks under a wild hook from King.
A telegraphed right hand from King misses the target.
King misses with a low kick.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bunting is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Bunting circles away and we're back to standing.
Bunting has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Stu's Gym in the buildup to the fight.

King fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bunting sprawls well initially but King persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw King working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bunting regains full guard. Nicely done.
King won't allow Bunting to sweep him here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King passes Bunting's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bunting is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
King is looking to pass Bunting's guard but actually Bunting recovers to full guard.
Bunting tries to land a sweep but no joy.

King postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

King won't allow Bunting to sweep him here.
King makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bunting is controlling King's posture.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but Bunting is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King is looking to work some ground and pound but Bunting has wrist control.
King throws a big elbow that misses.
Bunting not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bunting looking for a sweep. Not yet Bunting, not yet.
Bunting preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
King postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bunting looking to hit a scissor sweep but King is one step ahead there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
King trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bunting bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in King's guard.
King manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bunting manages to get himself to full guard.
King won't allow Bunting to sweep him here.
Bunting is working hard here to advance position.
King wants to control from the top but Bunting keeps moving.

King postures up in Bunting's guard and throws a big left but Bunting blocks it.
King with a flurry of punches that miss.
King forces his way into half guard.
Bunting is controlling King's position as best he can from this difficult position.
King throwing shots but Bunting is blocking nicely.
Bunting is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

King is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bunting defends it well.
King tries to pass to full mount but Bunting defends it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. King connects with a nice short shot to Bunting's temple.
King thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bunting wants to improve his position but King is controlling well.
King lands with a punch from half guard.


It looks like John Bunting has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bunting won't allow King to pass to mount.
Bunting blocking the ground and pound attempt from King.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. King connects with a nice short shot to Bunting's temple.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bunting won't allow King to pass to mount.
King takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bunting tries to get to full guard but King has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Levi King dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Bunting's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


King lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


John Bunting's cut is getting worse.
Bunting misses with a body kick.
Bunting connects with a looping right hand.
Some bone on bone action there as King checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Bunting lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
King misses with a low kick as Bunting jumps back.
Bunting throws a hook but King blocks it.
Bunting moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bunting dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
King tries to work over Bunting's front leg with a kick but Bunting checks it.
Bunting walks into a straight right hand from King.
Bunting tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bunting takes the fight into the clinch.

Bunting manages to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bunting misses with a straight right.
King looks to score with a jab to the body but Bunting is just out of range.
King checks a leg kick nicely.
King scores with a jab. Bunting acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


John Bunting's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
John Bunting is winning the standup battle so far.
Bunting finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nice body kick there by Bunting.
King is breathing heavily.
King misses with a body shot.
Bunting throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
King throws a jab when Bunting was well out of range.

Bunting instigates a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King tries a body shot but Bunting blocks it.
Bunting blocks a punch to the side of the head.
King throws an elbow that misses.
King has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Bunting misses with a hook to the ribs.
A head punch blocked on the inside by King.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bunting's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Bunting avoids the elbow strike from King, against the cage.
King throws an elbow but it misses.
Bunting fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Bunting.
King throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bunting blocks it with crossed arms.
Bunting tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
King is trying to force a seperation but Bunting has the dominant position.
Bunting struggles to land a body shot inside as King controls his hands.
Bunting misses with a short punch on the inside.
Bunting lands a nice shot to the body.
Good body shot from Bunting.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bunting creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
John Bunting has scored more points in the clinch so far.

Bunting breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A slow jab from Bunting misses its intended target.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bunting lands a nice hook to King's body. King takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
John Bunting is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bunting connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.


It looks like Levi King has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Crunch! Bunting slams his shin into King's torso.
Bunting ducks under a wild hook from King.

Bunting drops King with a big left hand and mounts him. King is in big trouble!


King is rocked!
Bunting unloads with some vicious shots from mount and King wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Bunting celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Bunting!
An out of breath John Bunting thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Levi King had this to say: 'Should have stayed retired, I guess.'.
