PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milovan Drecun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross has chosen Eminem- Cold Wind Blows as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drecun takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Drecun takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Drecun drives through with a takedown into guard.
Drecun trying to control but Ross is working from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ross manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Drecun decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ross looks like he's trying to stand up.

Drecun is working for a submission of some sort.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Drecun prevents Ross from standing back up.

Ross is defending against the submission attempts here by Drecun.
Drecun stops Ross from getting back to his feet.
Ross told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Ross has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Drecun is on him like a limpet, forcing Ross back against the cage.
Drecun fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Ross must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Drecun is looking for a triangle but Ross pushes his legs off easily.
Ross content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Drecun looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ross is one step ahead there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ross is working Drecun over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Drecun escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ross gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ross throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Drecun works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Drecun looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ross trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ross connects with a couple of short punches.
Ross postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Ross stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drecun swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ross trying to move into half guard but instead Drecun has managed to sweep!
Ross is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Drecun tries to free his leg and advance position but Ross is retaining full guard.
Ross wants to get back to his feet but Drecun is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drecun wants to control from the top but Ross keeps moving.
Ross is looking to stand up but Drecun isn't so interested in that idea.

Drecun drops back looking for a leg! Ross is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ross manages to kick Drecun off! Drecun jumps back into Ross's guard.
Drecun won't allow Ross to get back to his feet.

Drecun trying to control but Ross is working from the bottom.
Drecun is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ross is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Ross wants to stand and escape but Drecun is having none of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Drecun passes Ross's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Drecun is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Drecun stops Ross from getting back to his feet.

Ross has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Drecun is on him like a limpet, forcing Ross back against the cage.
Drecun has been working on his balance at Soul Supremacy Fight Club - ELITE TRAINERS----$580, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Ross.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ross has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Drecun is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ross is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Drecun can't fight it off and eventually Ross manages to take the fight to the floor. Drecun looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ross postures up in Drecun's guard and throws a big left but Drecun blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hector Ross dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ross missing with a left hand there. Drecun was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ross. Drecun does a little dance to reset his feet.
Drecun blocks a head kick by Ross.
Ross rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Drecun moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Drecun shoots in for a double leg but Ross sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ross tries a head kick but it misses.
Ross misses with a wild body shot.
Drecun takes one on the button.
Ross misses the jab.
Drecun shoots in looking for a takedown but Ross manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drecun's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ross uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Drecun.
A head kick misses from Ross.
Ross throws a lazy head kick
and Drecun counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Drecun steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ross.
Ross thows a body shot but no joy.

Ross throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Drecun blocks the body kick.
Ross scores with a head kick. Drecun tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Drecun takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Drecun takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Ross keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milovan Drecun. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ross throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ross lands with a nice combination. Drecun backs away looking to recover.
A swing and a miss from Ross.
Ross slips under a jab from Drecun.

Ross moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Drecun shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drecun is looking to advance position but Ross won't allow it.

Drecun is keen to just control but Ross is a slippery customer.
Drecun moves nicely into side control.

Ross is breathing heavily.

Ross tries to escape back to his feet but Drecun has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Ross's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Ross is tapping! Drecun saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
