Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mcneil's waist but Mcneil gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing James off to one side.

James moves forwards but Mcneil connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mcneil wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.
Mcneil seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mcneil decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

so Mcneil counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
James has a closed guard, preventing Mcneil from standing up.
James thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Mcneil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mcneil keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of James's head.

James lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mcneil!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcneil rolls, trying to escape but James keeps control of the position.

Mcneil looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

James has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Mcneil! Can he survive? No! He's out! James gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Richard James!
