The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leduc throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Leduc takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Bonhomme is pushing down on Leduc's leg trying to pass to half guard. Leduc is fighting to maintain full guard but Bonhomme has managed to sneak the leg through.
Leduc is still in real trouble! Can Bonhomme finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bonhomme wants to work for an arm triangle but Leduc is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bonhomme is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Leduc is just riding it out for now. Bonhomme eventually gives up the hold.

Leduc fails to land the takedown.
Bonhomme tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leduc paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bonhomme lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Zach Leduc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leduc shoots in but no luck this time.
Gaston Bonhomme has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zach Leduc.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Leduc tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bonhomme misses with a two punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Leduc tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Bonhomme counters with a solid body kick.
Bonhomme stuffs the takedown.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bonhomme, right into the meat.
Leduc shoots in but no luck this time.
Bonhomme dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Leduc. That did some damage!

Bonhomme thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Leduc is looking to reverse the position.

Bonhomme has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Leduc is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Bonhomme yanks on the arm and Leduc is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Bonhomme.
