The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merritt gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zvijerac to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zvijerac wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Merritt seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Zvijerac is tapping! Wow, great finish!
