Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryce Mckinney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Billie Alden!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mckinney is defended easily by Alden.
Alden pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Alden shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Alden prevents Mckinney from improving his position.
Alden perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mckinney is looking for a sweep. Alden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mckinney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Alden is pressing down on Mckinney's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mckinney is holding on for now.
Mckinney wants to control but Alden is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Alden moves into range and clinches up with Mckinney.

Mckinney is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Alden is keeping busy.
Mckinney jumps guard but Alden stands there with Mckinney around his waist. Mckinney gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mckinney pushes Alden off looking to stand but Alden dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Alden decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Alden shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Alden was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alden has control of an arm but Mckinney manages to advance to Alden's back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alden shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mckinney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alden manages to get himself to full guard.

Alden looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Alden holds on and takes a little breather.

Mckinney drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Alden dives on top into guard.
Mckinney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mckinney is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mckinney is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Alden is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mckinney thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billie Alden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Mckinney has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Bryce Mckinney has been cut.

Alden clinches.
Alden can't break the clinch.

Alden is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mckinney can't fight it off and eventually Alden manages to take the fight to the floor. Mckinney looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Alden must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mckinney controls Alden momentarily but Alden frees himself.
Mckinney keeping moving, preventing Alden from controlling successfully.

Bryce Mckinney has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Mckinney pivots, looking for a leg kick but Alden is out of range and Mckinney settles back down.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Alden shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mckinney manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

You can see the frustration on Alden's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mckinney swings around for an armbar but Alden sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mckinney's guard.
Billie Alden has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mckinney can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Alden controls the pace.
Mckinney wants to sweep here but Alden controlling him for the moment.

Mckinney has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alden is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Well Alden has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
