Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kory Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kory Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeves shoots in but no luck this time.
Reeves takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones looks to land a combination but Reeves avoids it well.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Reeves has him pressed against the cage.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Reeves is controlling him.
Reeves fails to pull guard.
Jones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Jones is looking to break free of the clinch but Reeves has double underhooks.
Reeves keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Reeves has the dominant position.
Jones has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Reeves prevents Jones from breaking the clinch.

Reeves gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
Reeves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.

Reeves jumps into guard, dragging Jones to the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Reeves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.

Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Reeves has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Reeves passes into half guard.
Jones is trying to stand up here but Reeves is controlling him well.
Reeves really is a fat lump.
Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Jones is trying to stand.
Reeves controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kory Reeves wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Jones drives through and clinches with Reeves against the cage.

Reeves drags the fight down to the ground.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jones's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reeves utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Reeves lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones!
Jones trying desperately to get to his feet.
Reeves scoring with strikes but Jones is staying in there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones wants to try and get back to his feet.

Reeves is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jones has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jones!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Jones dominated that round.
That's time! Reeves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jones falls off balance throwing a combination

and Reeves counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Reeves not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Reeves wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kory Reeves.
Jones works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like Kory Reeves has been cut.
Jones listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Jay Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Reeves tries to strike from the bottom.
Reeves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reeves swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reeves manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Jones is looking to break free of the clinch but Reeves has double underhooks.
Jones stops a takedown attempt from Reeves.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reeves is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jones.
Reeves needs to keep his hands up - Jones had a free shot at his head there.

Jones clinches.
Reeves goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Reeves's head back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Jones.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones tries to land a front kick but Reeves steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jones connects with a right hand. Reeves shakes it off.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nice sprawl there from Jones as Reeves shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kory Reeves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


Reeves is rocked!
Jones lands with a right that hurts Reeves. Reeves looks to clinch but Jones throws a short knee that drops Reeves. This one is all over!
