Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Mastain!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mastain sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Potter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mastain defends it nicely.
Potter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Good leg kick by Mastain there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Mastain's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mastain duly obliges.
Dave Mastain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mastain throws a shot to the body.
Mastain scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mastain lands a lovely overhand right.
Potter has his takedown stuffed
and Mastain connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Potter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice straight punches there by Mastain. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mastain.
Potter closes the distance and clinches up with Mastain, looking for a takedown. Potter pushes Mastain against the cage but Mastain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mastain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Potter misses with a takedown
and Mastain counters with a straight right hand.
Potter is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mastain fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Potter, pushing him back against the cage.
Potter has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mastain after a bit of a struggle.
Mastain is pressed up against the cage. Potter has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mastain down to the mat. Mastain avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Potter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
OH! Potter has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Mastain smells blood and charges in for the finish! Mastain unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Potter sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dave Mastain!
Dave Mastain decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
