Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Puempel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Severi Suhonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suhonen has chosen Lentävä Kalakukko as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suhonen lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Suhonen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Puempel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Suhonen wants to hit a switch here but Puempel passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Suhonen there!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Puempel cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Puempel cracks Suhonen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Puempel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Suhonen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Puempel scrambles back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Suhonen's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Suhonen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Matt Puempel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Severi Suhonen.

Puempel slips a straight right by Suhonen.
Suhonen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Oooooh!!! Puempel has knocked Suhonen down with a huge combo! Puempel steps away and waves a wobbly Suhonen back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Puempel jabs Suhonen to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Suhonen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Puempel works the jab nicely.
Puempel fakes the body blow, causing Suhonen to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Suhonen goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
