The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drago darts in and clinches Ape up against the cage.
Drago digs a right hand into Ape's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ape's gas tank.

It looks like Man Ape has been cut.
Drago keeps control of Ape as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Ape is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Drago lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Drago breaks from the clinch.
Ape will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ape goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Drago misses with a series of wild punches.
Drago misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Drago rushes Ape and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ape is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Drago pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ape drops Drago with a big left hand and mounts him. Drago is in big trouble!

It looks like Ivan Drago has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drago really wants to buck Ape off and get back to his feet.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Drago throws a series of punches but Ape avoids them all with ease.

and Drago connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Drago throws a body punch but Ape moves out of range.

Ape slips a jab and a cross from Drago.
Drago gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ape throws a right and a left that both miss.
Drago tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Drago misses with a hook.
Ape fails to land with a series of punches.
Drago looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ivan Drago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Drago shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ape lands a big uppercut and Drago crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Drago looks OK. Ape waves Drago back to his feet!

Oh Drago is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ape tries to break the clinch but Drago is controlling the position.
Drago seems to have got his legs back now.

Drago cracks Ape with a nice body shot.
Ape can't break the clinch.
Drago lands a body punch in the clinch.
Drago lands a shot to the body.
Ape is breathing heavily.
Drago working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Drago escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Drago slips under a jab from Ape.
Drago throws a right and a left that both miss.
Drago throws a left that rocks Ape and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Drago dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Ape regain composure!

Drago decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Ape throws a big shot that misses.

and Drago counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

That has opened up Man Ape's cut even more.
Ape dodges the punch combination from Drago.

and Drago counters with a left and a right that stings Ape.

Ape is rocked!
Man Ape seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drago circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Ape to the canvas! Ape doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Drago keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
