Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva tries to roll over but Jenkins keeps him under control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva wants to get back to full guard.
Jenkins wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it.

Silva has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Jenkins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jenkins.

Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jenkins is working away from the top position though.

Jenkins wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.

That's time! Jenkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A slapping leg kick lands for Jenkins.
Jenkins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jenkins tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.

and Silva counters by moving into the clinch.
Silva tries to throw a body punch but Jenkins avoids it by throwing Silva back against the cage.
Silva lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Silva is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jenkins to keep the fight standing.

Jenkins's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Silva fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Jenkins pushes off an throws an elbow but Silva leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Silva tries to pull guard but Jenkins won't allow it.
Silva lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Jenkins jumps guard.
Silva working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jenkins's head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jenkins has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

Silva scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Jenkins throws his legs up looking for a submission but Silva uses it to pass to side control.
Silva lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Jenkins on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Oh Jenkins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jenkins some visible discomfort.
Silva in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Bruce Jenkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Silva has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Jenkins!
Silva connects with a bit shot that sees Jenkins covering up! More strikes from Silva and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Silva is our winner by TKO!
