PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steveo Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Pico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perkins throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Pico counters by clinching up.

Pico breaks the clinch.

Pico closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pico not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perkins wants to get back to his feet.
Perkins is doing well to control the position and prevent Pico from advancing to side control.
Pico tries to pass the half guard into mount. Perkins knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aaron Pico wasn't active enough on the ground.

Pico fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Perkins sprawls well initially but Pico persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Perkins throws a combination. Pico tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Perkins shoots in but Pico avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pico misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Perkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pico can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pico changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perkins tries to avoid it but Pico manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perkins to the ground. Perkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Perkins lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Pico backwards.
Perkins misses with a hook to the ribs.
The referee calls for Perkins to work.
Pico gets underhooks to prevent Perkins's takedown attempt.

Perkins lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Pico or not.
A nice left hand lands by Perkins.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Steveo Perkins will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Perkins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pico circles away quickly and effectively.
