Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cleber Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cleber Faria!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Faria but Faria pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Faria moves in looking to clinch but Wells pushes him off.
Wells tries to clinch but Faria moves out of range.
Wells slaps away a takedown attempt from Faria, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wells really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Faria wants to slow Wells down by chopping away at his legs.
Faria is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Faria tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wells manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Faria scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Faria drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Faria jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wells walks away with a smile on his face. Faria gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Stevie Wells has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cleber Faria.

Wells closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Faria's guard.

Wells takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Wells throws a strike but Faria rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Faria stops Wells from standing up.
Faria pushes down on Wells's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Wells looks like he's trying to stand up.
Faria passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wells!
Faria trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Wells sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wells wants to get back to his feet.
Faria is pressing down on Wells's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wells is holding on for now.
Wells is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wells has Faria pressed against the cage, preventing Faria from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Faria jumps guard but Wells turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Faria has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wells is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Faria tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Faria pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Faria tries for a takedown but Wells circles away easily

and Wells holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Wells will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Faria up against the cage.
Faria tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Wells tries to throw a body punch but Faria avoids it by throwing Wells back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Cleber Faria will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Wells counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Faria's guard now.
Wells lands a couple of digs.
Wells postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wells accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wells will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Faria is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wells is aware though and is defending well.

Wells has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Faria takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Faria is trying to control the position but Wells postures up.

Wells winds up and cracks Faria with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Wells seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Wells slips a nice elbow through Faria's hands, connecting with Faria's forehead.

Wells is looking for a kimura but Faria is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wells to get the leverage.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wells connects with a nice short shot to Faria's temple.
