PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raju Armo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz has chosen British National Anthem as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Armo lands a big head kick that sends Cruz tumbling to the mat! Armo takes a step backwards and waves Cruz back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Armo fails to land with a series of punches.

Cruz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Armo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cruz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cruz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Armo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cruz defends it easily.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Cruz has eaten all the pies!

Cruz suckers Armo into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Cruz is now in Armo's guard!
Cruz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cruz has managed to clinch.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Armo here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Cruz turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cruz manages to end up in side control.

Cruz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Armo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cruz dives on top into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Armo is on top in guard.

Armo lands with a kick to the temple. Cruz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cruz is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Armo can't fight it off and eventually Cruz manages to take the fight to the floor. Armo looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Cruz has gone for a leg lock! Armo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cruz's guard.

Armo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Armo uses his free foot to push down on Cruz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cruz.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Armo throws a nice looking combination but Cruz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cruz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Armo's guard.

Armo has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cruz should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Armo has tightened it up now! Cruz should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Raju Armo!
A very excited looking Raju Armo rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
