The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Souza moves in looking to clinch but Sabio pushes him off.

De Souza tries to close the distance and clinch but Sabio swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
De Souza is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sabio just misses with a punch to the body.

De Souza takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sabio throws a sloppy head kick and De Souza moves out of range easily.

Adriano De Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

De Souza tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sabio paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sabio drops De Souza with a left and a right! Oh, De Souza is hurt - Sabio dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Adriano De Souza has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

De Souza tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sabio wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sabio connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused De Souza some visible discomfort.
Sabio tries to score with some ground and pound. De Souza controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Sabio is working to tighten is grip on De Souza's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. De Souza has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sabio is really squeezing tight and eventually De Souza passes out! Sabio breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
