Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akisame Hikaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Kringle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hikaru comes to the cage accompanied by Ultimate Battle. Kringle has chosen Wating on the world to change, by John Mayer as his entrance music. Chris Kringle acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Akisame Hikaru!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Kringle!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hikaru throws a solid leg kick but Kringle takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hikaru.
Kringle throws a push kick but Hikaru slaps the foot to one side.
Hikaru throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kringle throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kringle is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hikaru.
Hikaru looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hikaru ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kringle moves away.
Kringle avoids the body shot from Hikaru.
Kringle throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hikaru gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kringle is trying to stand.
Hikaru seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kringle pushes Hikaru off looking to stand but Hikaru dives back in and keeps control.

Hikaru looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kringle is fending him off so far but Hikaru persists. Nope, Kringle circles away and we're back to standing.
Hikaru takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kringle throws a series of punches but Hikaru moves out of range.
Kringle is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hikaru rather than just go for the knockout.

Kringle closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hikaru quickly recovers to half guard.
Kringle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hikaru's head.

Hikaru rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kringle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hikaru takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hikaru throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kringle tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hikaru manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hikaru keeps the fight on the outside.

That was a close second round but I would say that Akisame Hikaru will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kringle takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hikaru shoots for a double leg takedown but Kringle sprawls well. He's pushed Hikaru's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No joy there for Hikaru, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kringle fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hikaru is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kringle on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

and Hikaru counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hikaru drops Kringle with a naaaaasty hook - Kringle is in real trouble here! Hikaru dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akisame Hikaru!
