Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Congo Ashantie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Marabou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ashantie's entrance music is Congo Ashanti. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Congo Ashantie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Marabou!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashantie throws a sloppy head kick and Marabou moves out of range easily.
A lazy left from Ashantie finds it's target.
Marabou tries to clinch up but Ashantie circles away and keeps his distance.
Marabou avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Marabou misses with the combination.
Marabou misses with a double jab
and Ashantie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Marabou moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Ashantie clinches up against the cage.
Ashantie is trying to stall.
Ashantie tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Marabou pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Oooooh!!! Marabou has knocked Ashantie down with a huge combo! Marabou steps away and waves a wobbly Ashantie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Congo Ashantie has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marabou is looking to clinch.
Marabou looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Ashantie counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Marabou told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Marabou pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Marabou throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ashantie connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Ashantie lands a nice looking body shot.
Ashantie swats away the attempt to clinch by Marabou.
Ashantie has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Ashantie lands a nice hook to Marabou's body. Marabou takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Marabou misses with a wild body shot.
Marabou moves to clinch but Ashantie breaks away
and Ashantie counters with a straight right hand.
Marabou takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Marabou tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ashantie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ashantie misses with a hook from the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ashantie.
Marabou tries to circle away but Ashantie has him pinned against the cage.
Ashantie using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Marabou has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ashantie is pressed up against the cage. Marabou has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ashantie down to the mat. Ashantie avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Ashantie lands a left and a right that send Marabou crashing to the mat, dazed. Ashantie thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Marabou is rocked!

It looks like Gary Marabou has been cut.
Marabou switches off momentarily and Ashantie cracks him with a monster right hand! Marabou topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Ashantie dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Ashantie!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Congo Ashantie!
