PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Crushing Cows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Crushing Cows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nigel Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cows scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Cows controlling the position from side mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cows works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Cows creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Diaz sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Diaz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cows tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Diaz dodges the ground and pound from Cows.
Cows moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Check out the look on Cows's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Cows throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Cows fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Cows lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cows. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cows lands an elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cows misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Cows is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cows content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cows throws a strike aimed at the side of Diaz's head but Diaz avoids it well.

Cows connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Diaz some visible discomfort.

Cows is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cows seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Diaz for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cows looks up at the clock and then as Diaz takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cows smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Cows creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diaz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Diaz parries the strikes from Cows easily there. Cows is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Diaz to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crushing Cows dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like Crushing Cows has been cut.
Crushing Cows seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz scores with a jab.
Diaz lands a nice shot that snaps Cows's head back.
Diaz cracks Cows with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cows looks up at the clock and then as Diaz takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cows smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Cows scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Diaz is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Cows can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Crushing Cows!
Nigel Diaz was interviewed post fight and said 'It's like, you know... Whatever man.'.
