Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Otha Copeland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brian Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Copeland tries to sprawl but Nakamura drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Nakamura not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Copeland preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Nakamura tries to pass to full mount but Copeland defends it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nakamura connects with a nice short shot to Copeland's temple.
Copeland is staying active underneath Nakamura, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nakamura might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Copeland haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Nakamura drops back, looking for a kneebar! Copeland looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Copeland looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Copeland!

Copeland is working Nakamura over with some ground and pound from side control.
Copeland lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Nakamura down.
Nakamura is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Copeland off and has taken his back!

Nakamura is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Copeland is defending well though. Nakamura let's go of the attempt for now.

Nakamura closes the distance and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nakamura gets control of Copeland's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nakamura will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Brian Nakamura will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Copeland gets caught napping as Nakamura dives in and scores a takedown. Copeland manages to retain guard.

Nakamura is trying to hold Copeland in close to prevent damage but Copeland has managed to pass into half guard.

Copeland decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Nakamura lands with a thumping leg kick.

Nakamura changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Copeland looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nakamura is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nakamura goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Copeland has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nakamura but great work by Copeland.

Copeland is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Nakamura looks calm but he's in trouble here. Copeland gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Nakamura is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Copeland lets go of the hold and Nakamura can pop his arm back in it's socket.
