Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Tefft (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nasir Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Will Tefft has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Tefft!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nasir Jones!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tefft throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tefft misses with a body shot

and Jones counters by clinching up.
Tefft is breathing heavily.
Tefft trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed Tefft into the cage.
Jones has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tefft working hard to break the clinch.
Tefft misses with a body punch.
Jones misses with a body punch.
Nice body punch from Jones - that landed with a thud.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Tefft.
Tefft is looking to take this one to the mat.

Jones tries for a takedown but Tefft sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Tefft sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Nasir Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones instigates a clinch.
Jones is leaning against Tefft and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Tefft misses with a short punch on the inside.
Jones blocks an elbow strike.
Tefft tries to stall but Jones uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Tefft breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tefft swivels and escapes.
Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tefft sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tefft throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones throws a one two combo.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Tefft, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Tefft against the cage but Tefft circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tefft scores with a one two! Jones had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tefft lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tefft.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Will Tefft will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A looping hook to the body misses from Tefft. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tefft circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones is looking to clinch.
Tefft throws a predictable looking body shot
and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Tefft.
Tefft leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nasir Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Tefft throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Tefft sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tefft circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones has a takedown stuffed.
Tefft lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jones at a distance.
Tefft thuds a left hand into Jones's body.
Tefft rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tefft paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tefft keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Tefft stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tefft wants it to stay on the feet.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Tefft shows good takedown defense.
Tefft looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nasir Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Tefft tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tefft manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Tefft which made him look bad.

Tefft clobbers Jones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Tefft gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Will Tefft.
Well Tefft has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
