Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Unai Arana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adelard Desormeaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arana comes to the cage accompanied by NoMeansNo - Beat on the Brat. Desormeaux has chosen Ça va venir découragez-vous pas as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adelard Desormeaux!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desormeaux tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Desormeaux getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Adelard Desormeaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arana moves out of range of the body kick.
Desormeaux swings for the body but Arana moves out of range.
Desormeaux has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Arana finds it's way round the side to connect with Desormeaux's head.

Desormeaux shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arana sprawls well. Arana wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Desormeaux gets slowly back to his feet.

Arana bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Desormeaux's head.

Desormeaux throws an elbow that misses. Arana uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Desormeaux's guard. Nice move by Arana!

Desormeaux escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Arana gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Arana is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Desormeaux has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Arana can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Desormeaux has his foot on Arana's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Arana works his way back into a safe position though.

My spies in SAVATE DE RUE du Quebec inform me that Desormeaux has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Arana gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Arana takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Arana fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Arana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Desormeaux takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Arana tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Desormeaux was well out of range. Poor timing from Arana.

Desormeaux dives in and grabs Arana's left leg, looking for a takedown. Arana pushes down on Desormeaux's head and hops out.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Desormeaux swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Desormeaux on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Desormeaux walks into a stiff left hand from Arana.
Desormeaux is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Arana.
That kick from Arana tenderised Desormeaux's leg. Desormeaux is trying to keep his angry face on.

Desormeaux feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Aranas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Arana ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Desormeaux pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Adelard Desormeaux seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Arana buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Arana lands with an uppercut that bounces Desormeaux off the cage and back into range.
Arana clobbers Desormeaux with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Desormeaux misses with a kick to the body.

Arana lands a nice uppercut.

Arana breaks from the clinch.
Desormeaux throws a body kick that misses.
Desormeaux throws a head kick that misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Arana. That snapped Desormeaux's head back.
Arana walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Desormeaux checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
A looping hook to the body misses from Desormeaux. Arana does a little dance to reset his feet.
Arana connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Arana counters with a nice uppercut.
Desormeaux closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Desormeaux sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

A slapping leg kick lands for Arana.
Arana fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Desormeaux on the side of the head.
Desormeaux misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Desormeaux is breathing heavily.
Desormeaux throws a half hearted mid kick.
Arana is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Desormeaux changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arana tries to avoid it but Desormeaux manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arana to the ground. Arana escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Arana sizes up Desormeaux with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Arana throws a front kick that sends Desormeaux stumbling back into the cage.

Arana lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Desormeaux falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

After the fight, Unai Arana was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
