The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brum fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Brum throws a sloppy head kick and Van Winkle moves out of range easily.

Rich Van Winkle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonard Brum.

Brum will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Brum uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Van Winkle.
Van Winkle throws out a loose jab but Brum uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brum uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Van Winkle.
Van Winkle defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brum.
Brum shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Brum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Van Winkle tries to avoid it but Brum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Van Winkle to the ground. Van Winkle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Van Winkle counters with a crisp right hand that drops Brum! Van Winkle lets Brum back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Van Winkle throws a jab but it's blocked by Brum.
Brum is still on wobbly legs! Can Van Winkle finish him?

Van Winkle misses with a straight left.
Van Winkle misses with a looping left.
Brum seems to have recovered his senses.
Van Winkle misses with an uppercut.
Brum shoots for a double leg takedown but Van Winkle sprawls well. He's pushed Brum's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Van Winkle lands with a hook. Brum tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Brum shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Van Winkle but Van Winkle pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Brum takes one to the side of the head.
Van Winkle misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brum will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
and Van Winkle counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Brum! He's just covering up as Van Winkle starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
