Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dane Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hu Kokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cook's entrance music is I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Dane Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Hu Kokov!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Cook does it's job there.
Cook misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cook swings widly with a right hand

and Kokov counters with a takedown into side control.
Kokov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kokov throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Cook wants to control but Kokov postures up.
Cook's coaches at Bruize Brothers have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Kokov postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cook can't do much from the bottom here.
Cook is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Kokov tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Cook is not content to let Kokov control the position.
Cook works his way to full guard. Good work.
Cook looking for a sweep. Not yet Cook, not yet.

Kokov advances to half guard.
Cook is looking to control Kokov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cook avoid being mounted?

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kokov stalling away here and it's allowed Cook to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kokov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cook, up you get!

Dane Cook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kokov has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Cook.
The fighters circling - Cook throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Kokov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cook's guard now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cook is looking for a triangle but Kokov pushes his legs off easily.

Cook is looking to regain half guard here but Kokov keeps moving and retains side control.

Kokov fails to land a wild elbow strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cook sneaks back into half guard.
Kokov is thwarting Cook's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hu Kokov will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Kokov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kokov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cook's head.
Cook looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Cook is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hu Kokov has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cook is on top in guard.

Cook sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kokov's guard.
Kokov wants to improve his position but Cook is controlling well.
Cook throwing shots but Kokov is blocking nicely.
Kokov holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kokov manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Cook throws an elbow that misses. Kokov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cook's guard. Nice move by Kokov!

Cook has his foot on Kokov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kokov works his way back into a safe position though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cook is trying to hold Kokov in close to prevent damage but Kokov has managed to pass into half guard.
Kokov is looking to take a break and control but Cook is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kokov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cook haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Cook manages to get to full guard.
Kokov pushes down on Cook's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kokov wants to pass to mount but Cook is defending the position.
Cook is controlling Kokov's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Cook is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cook avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kokov.
Cook regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cook is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cook is looking to advance position but Kokov won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cook is looking for a kimura here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dane Cook will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Cook will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cook darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A head kick misses from Cook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Cook does no damage.
Cook scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Hu Kokov has been cut.
Cook feints a jab promting Kokov to slip. Cook then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kokov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Kokov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cook misses the shot to the body.
A punch combination from Cook misses.
Kokov keeps the fight on the outside.
Cook throws a series of punches but Kokov moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cook darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
No joy there for Cook, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cook swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Cook wants to clinch.
Cook misses with a hook. Kokov ducked under it nicely.
Dane Cook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kokov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Cook rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kokov counters with a right hand to the body.
Cook lunges at Kokov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kokov's hand.
Cook looks to land a combination but Kokov avoids it well.
Kokov avoids the body shot from Cook.
Cook throws a hook but Kokov avoids it easily.

Kokov takes one to the chin there.
Kokov throws an overhand right that lands on Cook's shoulder, as Cook tries to avoid the shot.
Kokov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cook throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A jab from Cook misses.
Cook goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Cook throws a looping overhand right but Kokov ducks down to avoid it.
Cook stalks Kokov and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kokov's face. Kokov staggers backwards, shaken.
Kokov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cook.
Kokov moves out of range of the strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cook looks to score with a jab to the body but Kokov is just out of range.
Kokov needs to keep his hands up - Cook had a free shot at his head there.
Kokov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cook throws out the jab.
Cook falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kokov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cook scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cook throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cook tries to clinch up.

and Kokov counters with a single leg into guard. Cook didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kokov distracts Cook with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dane Cook showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cook has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
