Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jer Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bear kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Good Times. Nelson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hyper - We Control kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Roy Nelson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jer Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roy Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear throws the kick towards the body but Nelson avoids it.
Bear misses with a body kick.
Bear misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bear misses with a body kick.
Nelson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bear looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bear throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Bear throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bear fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bear throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Nelson counters with a nice body shot.
Jer Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A nice leg kick lands there from Nelson.
Bear throws a head kick but Nelson moves out of range.
Nelson misses with a series of wild punches.
Bear throws a wild body kick that Nelson sees coming a mile off.
Bear checks the leg kick nicely there.
Nelson stuffs the takedown attempt from Bear. Bear gets slowly back to his feet.
Nelson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bear to score with a decent uppercut.

Bear throws a nice head kick!
Nelson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bear was well out of range. Poor timing from Nelson.
Nelson lands a two punch combo.
Nelson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bear counters with a stiff right hand.
Roy Nelson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bear tries to clinch but Nelson is having none of it.
Nelson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bear throws a sloppy head kick and Nelson moves out of range easily.
Bear lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nelson will feel that in the morning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nelson throws the left hand but Bear avoids the punch easily.
Nelson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nelson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No joy there for Nelson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bear misses with a head kick.
Bear dodges the punch combination from Nelson.

Bear drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bear trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Nelson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bear postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bear content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Nelson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bear throws a big right hand that misses.
Bear has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bear postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bear engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bear will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nelson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bear trying to control the position from guard on top but Nelson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bear landing some decent shots from guard.

Bear avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bear looking to sit in guard and control but Nelson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bear looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Bear is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nelson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bear is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bear keeping moving, preventing Nelson from controlling successfully.
Bear lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nelson!
Nelson can't escape the position.
Bear is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nelson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bear trying to control but Nelson is having none of it.
Nelson is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nelson is squirming around, avoiding Bear's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jer Bear dominated that round.
That's time! Bear's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Good work by Bear as he checks the leg kick.
Bear scores with a jab to the jaw.
Nelson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bear shoots in looking for a takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl out of it but Bear keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nelson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nelson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bear is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nelson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nelson just misses with a punch to the body.
Nelson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nelson stuffs the takedown attempt from Bear. Bear gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jer Bear. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bear throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nelson's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nelson lands a head shot.
Nelson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bear.

Nelson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bear.
Bear lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Bear misses with a takedown attempt - Nelson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bear dodges the punch combination from Nelson.
A lazy left from Bear finds it's target.
Nelson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bear is able to avoid easily.
Bear misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nelson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nelson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nelson tries to land a leg kick but Bear saw it coming and moves away.
Nelson falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Bear to counter with a crisp jab.


Nelson is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bear throws a quick head kick that knocks Nelson silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Bear is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jer Bear!
