The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustafson cracks Christiano with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Gustafson lands a jab to the nose.
Christiano fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Christiano has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Christiano there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gustafson misses with a series of wild punches.
Christiano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gustafson sprawls well. Gustafson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Christiano gets slowly back to his feet.
Christiano shoots in but no luck this time.
Jon Gustafson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Christiano.

Christiano shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gustafson as he avoids it easily.

Gustafson misses with a few strikes there.
Christiano tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gustafson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Christiano somewhat.

Gustafson tries to bum rush Christiano with a series of wild strikes but Christiano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A left and a right from Gustafson both land. Nice combination.
Gustafson throws a right and a left that Christiano avoids nicely.
Gustafson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gustafson lands with a cross.
Gustafson feints a jab promting Christiano to slip. Gustafson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Christiano slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Christiano is rocked!
Gustafson cracks Christiano with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Christiano is still on wobbly legs! Can Gustafson finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gustafson goes for a small jab and connects. Now Gustafson goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Christiano stumbles back but Gustafson runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Christiano to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Christiano will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
