PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steveo Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sosa tries to clinch up.
Perkins has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sosa is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Sosa moves forwards but Perkins connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Perkins swats away the attempt to clinch by Sosa.

Sosa is fighting off a takedown attempt but Perkins is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sosa to the mat. Sosa regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sosa will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Sosa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Perkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sosa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sosa postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Perkins looks a forlorn figure.

Perkins's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
