The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones.
Jones sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Souza is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Souza is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.
Souza gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Souza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Jones is trying to control. Souza wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Souza tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.

Souza displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jones checks a leg kick.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Souza defends well and Jones ends up having to push Souza into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Souza looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
