Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Austin!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A jab lands there for Smith.
Smith throws a wild body kick that Austin sees coming a mile off.
Austin shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Austin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Austin leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A solid leg kick lands there for Smith.
Austin blocks a head kick by Smith.
Austin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Chris Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Austin.
Austin shoots in but no luck this time.
Smith thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Austin if he has to take too many more of those.
Smith scores with a nice strike.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Smith.
Austin slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Austin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Austin gets slowly back to his feet.
Austin looks winded!

Austin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Smith's guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Austin is proving a slippery customer.
Smith seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Austin defends it easily.

Smith can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Austin controls the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Austin manages to avoid it.
Smith scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Smith thuds his shin into the meat of Austin's side.
Smith throws a nice inside leg kick.
Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Austin. Austin gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Austin misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Austin keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Austin keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass.
Smith in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A slapping leg kick lands for Smith.
Good leg kick by Smith there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Austin shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Austin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smith lands a jab-cross combination.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Smith. Austin shrugs it off though.
Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from Austin, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Smith thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Austin is trying to escape and Smith transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Austin is forced to tap! Nice work there by Smith! Very nice indeed!
