PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Corey Glatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khabib Rustam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glatt kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is lets roll. Corey Glatt had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Corey Glatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Khabib Rustam!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glatt throws a nice looking combination but Rustam bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Glatt misses with a combination
and Rustam counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Some wild striking there from Glatt.
Rustam misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Glatt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rustam closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Glatt did well to prevent Rustam getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rustam stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Glatt to get to his feet.
Rustam shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Glatt defends it nicely.

With the fighters up against the cage, Glatt throws an elbow but misses.
Come on Rustam - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Glatt tries to land knees in the clinch but Rustam avoids the damage to the body.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Rustam gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Rustam won't allow Glatt to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Glatt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rustam is controlling him.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Khabib Rustam wasn't active enough on the ground.

Rustam throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Glatt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rustam is in Glatt's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Glatt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Glatt is breathing heavily.
Rustam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Glatt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Glatt wants to stand but Rustam is controlling the position.

Rustam stands and steps away. Glatt gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Rustam shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rustam showed some decent athleticism there.

Rustam is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Glatt looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rustam is trying to control the action in half guard but Glatt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rustam drops an elbow to the side of Glatt's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rustam connects with a nice short shot to Glatt's temple.

Glatt trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Rustam rushes Glatt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Glatt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Rustam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Glatt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Glatt pushes Rustam off looking to stand but Rustam dives back in and keeps control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rustam tries to clinch up but Glatt circles away and keeps his distance.

Rustam has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Glatt is trying to keep an underhook but Rustam manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Glatt looks like he's trying to stand up.

Glatt has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rustam is on him like a limpet, forcing Glatt back against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rustam is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Glatt can't fight it off and eventually Rustam manages to take the fight to the floor. Glatt looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Khabib Rustam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rustam winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
