Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Fall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shelton Harrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harrell has chosen Ellie Goulding - Burn as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 15 - 3, fighting out of New York, Shelton Harrell!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jack Fall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fall has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Fall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Fall ducks right into an uppercut from Harrell.
Harrell slips under a jab from Fall.
Fall shoots in for a double leg but Harrell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Fall throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Fall throws an off balance right hand
and Harrell counters with a nice low kick that buckles Fall's knee momentarily.
Fall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Harrell.
Fall misses with an uppercut.
Fall shoots in looking for a takedown. Harrell tries to sprawl out of it but Fall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harrell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fall closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Fall is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Harrell sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Harrell is looking for a sweep. Fall is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Fall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harrell is trying to control but can't.

Fall is pressing down on Harrell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Harrell is holding on for now.

Fall is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Fall wants to free his trapped foot but Harrell is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Fall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Harrell is just riding it out for now. Fall eventually gives up the hold.

Fall drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harrell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harrell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harrell!
Fall is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Fall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Fall throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Harrell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
