Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tatu Kamia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Grapp Ler!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ler has his takedown stuffed
and Kamia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ler is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kamia will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kamia forces his way into half guard.
Ler gets back to full guard.
Kamia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kamia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ler has his foot on Kamia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kamia works his way back into a safe position though.
Kamia passes into half guard.
Kamia tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ler knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ler looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kamia thows a huge punch but Ler dodges it nicely.
Kamia passes to full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ler flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Kamia tries to control but Ler wriggling away.
Ler has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Kamia controlling well, preventing Ler from escaping the position.
Kamia has managed to slip his arm under Ler's chin. This could be all over... yep, Ler is tapping out! Submission win for Kamia.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tatu Kamia!
