Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricky George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashton Cryer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ashton Cryer!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cryer tries to clinch there but George circles away.

Cryer closes the distance and pushes George back into the cage.
Cryer lands a knee to the body.
George throws a head punch that misses.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cryer obliges.
George is trying to break the clinch but Cryer has him pressed against the cage.
Cryer tries to land knees in the clinch but George avoids the damage to the body.
Cryer lands a right hand that snaps the head of George backwards.
A short body shot lands from Cryer as the two fighters clinch.
Cryer crunches a lovely knee into George's ribcage.
A head punch on the inside from George fails to land.
George lands with a short head shot on the inside.
The referee is keeping an eye on Cryer - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
George controlling the action here for a moment.
Cryer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by George after a bit of a struggle.

George makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Cryer stalling in the clinch but George improves position.
George is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Cryer is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Cryer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
George throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cryer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
George fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cryer on the side of the head.


It looks like Ashton Cryer has been cut.
Cryer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by George.
George lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Cryer has George up against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cryer tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ricky George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashton Cryer.

Cryer is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
George is fighting to break Cryer's control of his arms but Cryer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
George throws an elbow that misses. Cryer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in George's guard. Nice move by Cryer!
Cryer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Cryer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cryer is stalling in the full guard.

George is working an open guard so Cryer takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Cryer clinches with his opponent.

Cryer swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Cryer trying to land knees to the body.

Cryer jumps into guard, dragging George to the mat.
Cryer keeping moving, preventing George from controlling successfully.
George wants to stand but Cryer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Cryer seems keen to control George's posture.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cryer is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George checks a leg kick.
George circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ashton Cryer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A jab lands there for Cryer.
George throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cryer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
George looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Cryer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
George scores with a jab. Cryer acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Nice uppercut there from George.
Cryer shoots in for a takedown but George shows good takedown defense.
Cryer fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Cryer moves into the clinch.
George letting Cryer take a breather here.
Cryer has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
George makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
George tries to throw a body punch but Cryer avoids it by throwing George back against the cage.

Cryer is trying to pull guard but George has him pressed against the cage.

Cryer has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed George clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Well, with Cryer on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before George is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Cryer biding his time, looking for the opening.
Cryer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

George is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cryer gets his way!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
George has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

I would not like to be George right now.
Ashton Cryer has got the better of the ground game so far.

Cryer has got one arm under George's chin. This could be trouble... George trying to control the other hand but Cryer gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, George has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ashton Cryer!
