The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerrard steps into range and cracks MacTavish with a monster punch that buckles his knees! MacTavish flops backwards and Gerrard dives into his guard looking to finish!
MacTavish is rocked!
It looks like John MacTavish has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Oh MacTavish is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gerrard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gerrard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
MacTavish seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacTavish is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gerrard thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gerrard drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and MacTavish dives on top into guard.
Gerrard has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. MacTavish doesn't defend quickly enough and Gerrard has managed to lock this one up! Can MacTavish escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Gerrard on a fantastic submission victory.
