I think Polish might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ice Cube - Today was a Good Day. James Polish has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Mackenzie!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mackenzie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Polish tries to avoid it but Mackenzie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Polish to the ground. Polish escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Polish lands a lovely overhand right.
Polish just misses with a punch to the body.
A punch combination from Polish misses.
Polish has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tenacity Elite - 17 Coaches in the buildup to the fight.
Polish scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Polish thuds his right hand into Mackenzie's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nice shot lands for Polish.
Polish digs a good body shot into Mackenzie's ribs.
Mackenzie shoots in but no luck this time.

Mackenzie shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mackenzie tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Mackenzie is taking a breather. Polish says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mackenzie stands up out of the half guard.

Polish connects with a crisp jab.

Polish has closed the distance and engaged Mackenzie in a clinch.

Polish breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Polish scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mackenzie doesn't seem bothered though.

James Polish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Mackenzie.
Polish swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Mackenzie gets the takedown into side control.
Polish tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Mackenzie easily slips into full mount!
Polish is looking to improve his position but Mackenzie isn't that keen on the idea.
Polish knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mackenzie on the ground.

My spies in Lethal Tech Academy inform me that Mackenzie has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Polish has left one of his arms exposed and Mackenzie doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Polish screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
