Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Kos!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kos feints a jab promting Adams to slip. Kos then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Adams slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Samuel Adams has been cut.

Adams drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Adams prevents Kos from getting back to his feet.
Adams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kos's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kos is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've been hearing reports that Adams has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Adams could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Adams gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Adams is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kos looks like he's trying to stand up.

Adams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Adams stops Kos from getting back to his feet.
Adams wants to take a breather but Kos is having none of it.

Adams scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Kos keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Adams is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Adams passes to side control.
Kos tries to escape but Adams is in control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Adams wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kos keeps working.
Kos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Kos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Adams has hold of Kos's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kos seems comfortable defending it but Adams has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kos is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kos is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Adams couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Samuel Adams!
After winning the bout, Samuel Adams thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
