Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerry Best!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Brute!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brute throws a right hand that Best ducks under and follows up with a left that Best also avoids with ease.

Brute shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Best's guard.
Brute controls from within his opponent's guard.
Brute wants to pass the guard but Best is keeping the position.
Best really is a fat lump.
Brute is stalling in the full guard.
Let's hope that Brute has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bob Brute has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Brute looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Best has a closed guard, preventing Brute from standing up.

Best tries to strike from the bottom.
Brute content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bob Brute has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Brute drives through and clinches with Best against the cage.

Best tries to pull guard but Brute holds him up against the cage and eventually Best drops back down to his feet.

Brute breaks from the clinch.

Brute shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Best wants to control but Brute is keeping busy.
Brute is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Best wants to control but Brute is having none of it.

Brute's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Best tries to clinch but Brute moves out of range.
Best lands a two punch combo.
Brute throws a leg kick but Best sees it coming and moves out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brute seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Best really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Best controls Brute momentarily but Brute frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brute closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Best to the mat! Best manages to get full guard.
Brute controlling from the top position.
Best not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Brute's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Best trying to keep a closed guard but Brute is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Brute gets the takedown into side control.
Best is working to avoid the ground and pound but Brute connects with a decent elbow.

Best seems a little lost for a moment, as Brute dominates the positioning.
Brute working away.
Brute slows the pace down.

Brute goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Best rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Brute's guard! Nice work there by Best!
Brute bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Best's guard.

Brute engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Best is trying to keep Brute in close.
Brute tries to stand but Best is controlling from the bottom.
Brute is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bob Brute wasn't active enough on the ground.
Brute jabs Best to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Best enables Brute to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Best manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Brute would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bob Brute has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brute is stalling in the full guard.

Brute closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Best quickly recovers to half guard.
Brute stalling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Brute is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Best is just riding it out for now. Brute eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Brute showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Best striking off his back but it's not causing Brute any problems.
Brute not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Brute passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Brute seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Brute has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Brute prevents Best from standing back up.
Brute keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Best is trying to control but can't.
Brute takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Bob Brute has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Brute closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Best being controlled for a moment.
Best is trying to control Brute's posture but Brute avoids it.

Brute thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Brute tries to advance to mount but can't.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Brute is trying to get an arm triangle but Best is defending well.
Best is trying to improve his position.

Brute moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Brute tries to advance to mount but Best denies him.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bob Brute wasn't active enough on the ground.

Brute shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brute was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Brute has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
