Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Mcpaene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zippi Duudi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zippi Duudi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Mcpaene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zippi Duudi!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcpaene changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Duudi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcpaene decides to stand back up.

Mcpaene feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Duudi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Duudi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcpaene can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mcpaene drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcpaene jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mcpaene is trying to escape the mount but Duudi keeps good control and instead manages to take Mcpaene's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mcpaene just trying to survive but Duudi is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Mcpaene tries to clinch but Duudi is having none of it.

Duudi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcpaene is working away from the top position though.

Mcpaene wants to free his trapped foot but Duudi is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Duudi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mcpaene seems to be working for a kimura but Duudi defends the submission attempt.

Mcpaene is keen to just control but Duudi is a slippery customer.
Duudi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zippi Duudi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Mcpaene looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mcpaene closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Duudi tries to roll over but Mcpaene keeps him under control.

Duudi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duudi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Duudi is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mcpaene has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mcpaene!

Duudi has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mcpaene doesn't defend quickly enough and Duudi has managed to lock this one up! Can Mcpaene escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Duudi on a fantastic submission victory.
