The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalev takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kovalev shoots for a takedown but Baillie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Baillie finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

A bone on bone clash there as Kovalev blocks the leg kick.
Baillie thuds his right hand into Kovalev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Kovalev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kovalev bounces back off the cage towards Baillie, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Baillie lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Baillie celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
