Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kiichi Miyazawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfredo Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiichi Miyazawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alfredo Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miyazawa feints and as Gomez raises his hands in defense, Miyazawa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gomez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Miyazawa is one step ahead there.
Gomez controls Miyazawa momentarily but Miyazawa frees himself.
Miyazawa trying to control but Gomez is working from the bottom.

Gomez wants to stand and escape but Miyazawa is having none of it.

Miyazawa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miyazawa connects with a nice short shot to Gomez's temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gomez is trying to get back to full guard.
Gomez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miyazawa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gomez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gomez is trying to get back to full guard.
Miyazawa takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Miyazawa thows a huge punch but Gomez dodges it nicely.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Miyazawa in particular looking to stall.

We've been hearing that Miyazawa has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Gomez is trying to trip Miyazawa. He has hold of a leg but Miyazawa is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gomez persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Miyazawa shoots in looking for a takedown but Gomez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Miyazawa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Miyazawa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Oh Miyazawa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gomez scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alfredo Gomez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Gomez cracks Miyazawa with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Miyazawa tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Gomez pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Miyazawa is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alfredo Gomez!
After winning the bout, Alfredo Gomez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
