PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Seasy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seasy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit. Liddell has chosen It's Dark and Hell Is Hot as his entrance music. Aaron Seasy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Seasy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seasy closes the distance and clinches up with Liddell, looking for a takedown. Seasy pushes Liddell against the cage but Liddell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Seasy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Liddell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Liddell forces his way into half guard.

Seasy looking for submissions off his back.
Seasy taking some punishment here, with Liddell in his half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Liddell not doing much here.
Seasy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Liddell on the ground.
Seasy wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Liddell passes to full mount!
Liddell controlling from mount.
Seasy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Liddell content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BOOM! Liddell connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Liddell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Liddell takes Seasy's back.
Seasy tries to break free.
Liddell slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Liddell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chuck Liddell hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Seasy moves into the clinch.
Liddell lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Seasy takes an elbow to the temple.
Seasy wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Seasy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Liddell lands a knee to the head.
Liddell keeps control of Seasy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Liddell looking to throw knees to the head but Seasy is blocking nicely.

Liddell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Seasy regains guard immediately.
Liddell content to stall in guard here.
Liddell is pushing down on Seasy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Seasy is fighting to maintain full guard but Liddell has managed to sneak the leg through.
Seasy wants to improve his position but Liddell is controlling well.
Seasy trying to control but Liddell postures up.

Seasy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Seasy is breathing heavily.
Liddell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Seasy!
Liddell tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Liddell gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Liddell cracks Seasy with a big right hand and Seasy goes down!


Seasy is rocked!


It looks like Aaron Seasy has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Liddell forces his way into half guard.
Oh Seasy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Liddell controlling the action here.
Liddell frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Liddell tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Seasy is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Liddell has taken his back.

Liddell is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Seasy has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Liddell has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Seasy taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Liddell doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Chuck Liddell!
