The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Rogers. No joy for James on that attempt.
Nice uppercut lands for Rogers. That snapped James's head back.

It looks like Bubba James has been cut.
James shoots in but Rogers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
James dives in for a single leg takedown but Rogers sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jason Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba James.
Rogers blocks an elbow strike.

James manages to break the clinch.
Rogers lands with an overhand left.
Rogers throws an uppercut from half a mile away. James sees it coming and avoids it easily.
James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rogers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat.
Rogers throws a hook to the side of James's head but James sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
James looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rogers's jab looks to have found its range, popping James under the eye.
Bubba James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James throws a poor cross that misses
and Rogers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
James keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rogers throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
James lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

James closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rogers tries to escape but James is in control.
Sloppy strikes there by James.

Rogers throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Rogers lands with a shot to the body.
James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rogers as he avoids it easily.
James fails with a takedown attempt.
Rogers ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
James looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rogers uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before James has time to react.
James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogers but Rogers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rogers just misses with a punch to the body.

James fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rogers checks it well.
James looks to land a combination but Rogers avoids it well.
A telegraphed right hand from Rogers misses the target.
James closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rogers circles away.
James ducks right into an uppercut from Rogers.
Rogers scores with a hook.
James throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
James tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rogers defends well and James ends up having to push Rogers into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rogers drops down looking for an ankle pick but James pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rogers throws a shot from downtown. James moves away and avoids it.
Rogers dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rogers throws a good cross that connects.

Rogers sends James crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Rogers is motioning to the referee to let James up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

James is rocked!

Rogers throws an uppercut from hell that sends James clean off his feet! He's out cold! Rogers stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
