The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba tries to clinch there but Pearson circles away.
We've been hearing reports that Pearson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Pearson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sakuraba to score an easy takedown into full guard.

A decent looking cross lands there for Pearson.
Sakuraba shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sakuraba, as that shot connected.
Sakuraba shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pearson pinned against the cage. Pearson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Pearson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sakuraba has time to react.

Pearson lands a big right hand that sends Sakuraba crashing to the mat! Pearson stays standing though and waves Sakuraba back to his feet!

Pearson lands a brutal uppercut that launches Sakuraba off his feet! Sakuraba tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
