The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materla checks a leg kick.
Materla shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hayes napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hayes definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hayes is looking for a sweep.
Materla is trying to get an arm triangle but Hayes is defending well.

Hayes tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Materla connects with a nice short shot to Hayes's temple.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Janner Hayes.
Well Materla has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
