Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sugar Shane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bernz Gilas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shane.

Shane gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gilas throws a shot from downtown. Shane moves away and avoids it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shane looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Shane shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gilas pinned against the cage. Gilas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A slow jab from Gilas misses its intended target.
Gilas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shane doesn't manage to clinch there - Gilas circles away.

Shane closes the distance and clinches.

Shane has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gilas clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Bernz Gilas has got the better of the ground game so far.
Shane tries to keep control of the position but Gilas is staying busy.

Gilas is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Shane has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gilas has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Gilas is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Shane gets his way!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Shane's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Shane has got his arm under Gilas's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Gilas has spun round into Shane's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Sugar Shane has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Gilas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shane doesn't seem bothered though.
Shane wants to clinch up but Gilas keeps it at a distance.

and Gilas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Gilas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shane was covering up waiting for the punch and Gilas finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sugar Shane just wasn't active enough.
Nice uppercut lands for Gilas. That snapped Shane's head back.

Shane takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
