PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nisse Indian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juliano Villar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Indian comes to the cage accompanied by Down - Hail The Leaf. Villar is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Prophet by Soulfly. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nisse Indian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juliano Villar!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Indian misses.
Villar has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Indian is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Villar darts in looking for a takedown but Indian gets double underhooks and turns Villar into the cage.
Indian crunches a lovely knee into Villar's ribcage.
Villar wants a takedown but no success here.

Villar has Indian pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Indian manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Nisse Indian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juliano Villar.

Villar has his foot on Indian's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Indian works his way back into a safe position though.

Villar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Indian haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Villar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Indian pulls his head out easily.
Villar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Villar bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Indian kicks Villar off and gets back to his feet.

Villar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Indian's half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Villar is pressing down on Indian's thigh, looking to free his foot. Indian is holding on for now.

A close round but Juliano Villar will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Villar goes for a double leg but Indian avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Indian continues to drive forward.

Villar has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Indian uses from the top position.

Indian decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Villar, up you get!

Villar dives in and grabs Indian's left leg, looking for a takedown. Indian pushes down on Villar's head and hops out.
Indian uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Indian fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Villar, pushing him back against the cage.

Villar is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Nisse Indian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juliano Villar.

Villar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Indian smiles and moves away.

Villar drops his hands momentarily and Indian takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Villar takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Good leg kick by Indian there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Villar closes the distance and clinches up with Indian, looking for a takedown. Villar pushes Indian against the cage but Indian circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nisse Indian is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Indian walks into a left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Indian lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That kick from Indian tenderised Villar's leg. Villar is trying to keep his angry face on.

Indian clinches.
Indian swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Indian misses with a punch on the inside.

Villar gets control of Indian's arms and successfully pulls guard. Villar will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Villar throws his legs up looking for a submission but Indian uses it to pass to side control.

Indian is looking to take a break and control but Villar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Indian is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Indian stands up and beckons Villar to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Villar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Villar lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nisse Indian will probably get the nod.

Nisse Indian showed his dominance in that final round.
