Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wyatt Jarvis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Felipe Chavez!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Jarvis gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Chavez looking for submissions off his back.
Jarvis controlling the pace.
Jarvis thows a huge punch but Chavez dodges it nicely.
Jarvis controlling the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jarvis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wyatt Jarvis.
Chavez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Jarvis counters with a single leg into guard. Chavez didn't expect that.

Jarvis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Chavez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Chavez tries for a takedown but Jarvis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chavez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jarvis is staying active underneath Chavez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Chavez is pressing down on Jarvis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jarvis is holding on for now.
Jarvis tries to get to full guard but Chavez has control of the leg.
Chavez is looking to advance position but Jarvis won't allow it.
Chavez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Chavez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jarvis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chavez.

Chavez has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Jarvis defend it? Chavez steps over the head and cranks it - Jarvis is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Chavez!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Felipe Chavez!
