Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Olivier Levasseur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Renner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renner comes into a darkened arena with his song building. God Particle kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Olivier Levasseur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Renner!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Renner just misses with a punch to the body.
Renner looks for the body kick but Levasseur saw that one coming.
Some wild striking there from Renner.

Levasseur drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Levasseur fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Levasseur wants to control but Renner is keeping him busy.
Renner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Levasseur tries to advance to mount but can't.
We've been hearing good reports from Levasseur's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Levasseur thows a huge punch but Renner dodges it nicely.
Levasseur perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Levasseur is looking for a kimura but Renner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Levasseur to get the leverage.

Renner wants to control but Levasseur is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Levasseur prevents Renner from improving his position.
Renner holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Renner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Levasseur is controlling him.

Renner looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Levasseur looks to throw the jab but Renner is out of range.

Levasseur fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Levasseur takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Renner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Levasseur moves away.
Levasseur dodges the punch combination from Renner.
Renner feints and then cracks Levasseur's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Levasseur down.

Renner misses with a head kick.
Levasseur shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Renner sprawls well. Renner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Levasseur gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olivier Levasseur. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Renner fakes the leg kick and cracks Levasseur in the body.
Renner has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Levasseur is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A left lands for Renner.
Levasseur shoots and misses
and Renner counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Levasseur gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Renner swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Levasseur ducks under a wild hook from Renner.
Levasseur avoids a punch combination nicely.
Levasseur bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Renner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Renner lands with a straight right. Levasseur didn't see that one coming.

Levasseur shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Renner is looking to control Levasseur's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Renner avoid being mounted?

Levasseur is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Renner doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Levasseur.

Levasseur is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Levasseur tries to pass the half guard into mount. Renner knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Levasseur is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Renner is just riding it out for now. Levasseur eventually gives up the hold.

Levasseur wants to lay and pray for a moment but Renner keeps working.

Renner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Renner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Renner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremy Renner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Levasseur takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Renner lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A decent looking cross lands there for Renner.
Renner connects with the punch.
Levasseur throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Renner's waist but Renner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Levasseur off to one side.

Renner drops Levasseur with a beautiful combination! Levasseur stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Renner is looking for the KO!

It looks like Olivier Levasseur has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Renner misses with a few strikes there.
Oh Levasseur is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Renner throws a head kick that misses.

Renner scores with a hook to the body. Levasseur takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

In his post fight interview, Jeremy Renner started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
