Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Victor Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Roosmalen!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roosmalen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Roosmalen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
We've been told by Ortiz's head coaches at Midnight MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ortiz looks to throw the jab but Roosmalen is out of range.
Roosmalen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ortiz. That did some damage!

Roosmalen dives in and scores a takedown into Ortiz's guard.
Roosmalen trying to control but Ortiz is working from the bottom.

Roosmalen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ortiz's head.

Ortiz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Roosmalen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Roosmalen slips nicely into half guard.
Roosmalen passes the guard and advances to mount!

Ortiz is trying to stand.
Roosmalen thowing shots but they're missing.
Roosmalen lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Ortiz is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Oh Ortiz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ortiz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ortiz tries to get out of the position.
A big strike lands for Roosmalen! That's really hurt Ortiz and he's turned his back - Roosmalen keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Roosmalen jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stefan Roosmalen!
Stefan Roosmalen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Victor Ortiz stepped up to the mic, saying 'ill be back, ill be back !!!just you watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'.
