PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Erikson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Horn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Horn comes into a darkened arena with his song building. White Buffalo- Matador kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erikson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Erikson looks for a takedown but Horn sprawls well.
Horn avoids a punch combination nicely.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Erikson throws a low kick, looking for Horn's leg but Horn calmly moves out of range.

Horn throws a body punch but Erikson moves out of range.

Erikson shoots for a double leg takedown but Horn sprawls well. He's pushed Erikson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Horn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Erikson on his heels. He'll look to pass Erikson's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Horn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Erikson has his foot on Horn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Horn works his way back into a safe position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Horn won't allow Erikson to sweep him here.

Erikson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Horn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Erikson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Horn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Horn is posturing up here but Erikson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Horn tries to roll out but it's too tight and Horn has to tap! Slick submission there by Erikson!
