The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Palau misses with a head kick.
Fisher throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palau.
Palau doesn't manage to clinch there - Fisher circles away.

Fisher closes the distance and clinches up with Palau, looking for a takedown. Fisher pushes Palau against the cage but Palau circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fisher shoots for a takedown but Palau saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nelson Palau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Fisher.

Palau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fisher is trying to land a reversal but Palau doesn't like that idea too much. He pushed the legs to the side and dives into side control. He's managed to grab a loose arm triangle.
